Jessie W. Winberry, 76, of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 20, 1936 in Senath, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in Park Hills, Missouri.
Jessie was retired from U.S. Navy and was a Army Veteran; he also was a truck driver for T.J. Transport. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1699 of Cahokia, IL., Emeth Lodge 1030 A.F. and A.M. of Cahokia, IL., and the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Winberry; his parents, Willie Winberry, Sr. and Adona Mae Bradum; a brother, Willie Winberry, Jr. and two sisters, Tinnie and June Winberry.
Surviving are his children, James Winberry, of Garfield, ARK., Dianna Kay Winberry of Blue Eye, MO., Brenda Honeycutt of Kirbyville, MO., Jerry Winberry of Blue Eye, MO., James Winberry of Fort Leonard Wood, MO.; step daughters, Sue Anderson and Cindy Cross both of Park Hills, MO.; brothers, James Winberry of Ozark, AL., Shelby Winberry of Kansas City, MO.; and sisters, Josie Young of Poplar Bluff, MO., Shirley Hefner of Patterson, MO., and Barbara Herschez of Wappapello, MO. He was a dear father-in-law, brother-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.
Friends may call from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home Cahokia, Illinois. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Sister Doris Ely officiating. Burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
